Adventure Bound Director

The Adventure Bound Director must have a strong background in the basic scout skills required for rank advancement for Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class, and must able to communicate this knowledge to campers in a meaningful and challenging way. Specific Responsibilities are:

supervise, train and motivate the Adventure Bound staff in all their activities.
offer a quality program for younger, participating campers to include skills needed to achieve rank advancement for Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First-Class rank. This may include but not be limited to axe and knife safety, map and compass work, ecological education, model campsites, fire building and fire safety, outdoor cooking, elementary first aid, and others.
direct the set-up and take-down of a quality demonstration / instructional area
maintenance, inventory, and wise use of all Adventure Bound equipment
maintain strict discipline at all times when campers, leaders and other staff are in the area
represent the Adventure Bound program at all leaders’ roundtables and department head meetings
participate in all camp wide activities
make a written advancement report on all Adventure Bound activities at the end of each week
conduct program staff evaluations for all Adventure Bound staff as requested and submit written report on the work of the staff at the close of camp
coordinate, instruct, assist, and evaluate volunteer Unit leaders and staff members as to procedures, techniques, methods, aims and ideals of Scout camping and the Adventure Bound advancement program
submit a complete inventory of all Adventure Bound materials and equipment, including condition and recommendations for next year’s supplies.
assist in the set-up and take down of all campsite facilities
all other duties as assigned
