Maintenance Staff

The maintenance team ensures the equipment and facilities of the property are sufficient for the program and Scouts’ use. This includes custodial, basic mechanical, woodworking, and general handyman maintenance. The maintenance teams serve under the direction of the Camp Director and Head Ranger.

Responsibilities and Duties

– Ensure proper functioning of all facilities.
– Complete projects related to camp improvements.
– Issue supplies and equipment related to maintenance.
– Carry out regularly scheduled preventative maintenance.
– Proper disposal of garbage and waste materials.
– Cleaning of public facilities – e.g., shower houses, restrooms, etc.
– Maintain a high standard of safety at all times.
– Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Camp Director or Head Ranger.

Qualifications

– High School Diploma or GED.
– A valid State driving license.
– Clean driving record.
– Experience working with youth.
– 18 years of age or older.
– Successful completion of a criminal background check.
– Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
– Able to sit or stand for long periods and climb multiple flights of stairs daily.
– Ability to bend, twist, and stretch.
– Self-motivated with the ability to efficiently work independently with little instruction or supervision.
– Willingness to be flexible with work assignments and roles.
