Nature Director

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

BSA Summer Camp Staff are seasonal employees who are responsible for lesson planning, instruction, Camper safety and facilitating purposeful and inspiring outdoor experiences. Staff positions vary based on age, skill set, and your desired summer experience. All Staff will be hired on in a specific role and will be required to participate in camp wide program such as flag ceremonies, campfires and any other activities as assigned by camp management. BSA Summer Camp Staff positions are designed for those who are enthusiastic about the outdoors, interested in gaining Leadership experience and looking to make lifelong friendships.

Camp Josepho is located in the Santa Monica Mountains, just 20 minutes off of Sunset Blvd and owned and operated by the Western Los Angeles County Council. Outside of teaching, staff members learn countless valuable skills that will serve them well in their professional and personal lives, all while living in an awe-inspiring mountain environment.

The Nature Directors primary responsibility is to led the Nature Cluster.

This cluster includes

Nature​
Forestry​
Soil and Water Conservation​
Wilderness Survival

Additionally, the Nature Director will have 1-2 staff they will manage.

Employment Dates: June 18th-July 24th, 2023

Room and Board provided– Required to live onsite during employment period.

CERTIFICATIONS & REQUIRED TRAINING
– CPR, AED, First Aid, Prior to Start of Camp (Provided if Needed)

-Youth Protection Training (Online Prior to Camp)

-AB506 Mandated Reporter Training (Online Prior to Camp)

-NCS Ecology Card

Salary Range- $325- $395 per week
