Scoutcraft Assistant Director – Scoutcraft

Objective: To work with the Scoutcraft Director to develop and execute a quality Scoutcraft merit badge program.

Requirements for hire: Must be in good standing with the Boy Scouts of America, Conquistador Council, and Wehinahpay Mountain Camp.

Specific responsibilities: the Scoutcraft Assistant Director – Scoutcraft must have knowledge of and be able to teach Scoutcraft skills to campers. Specific responsibilities include:

1. Aid the Scoutcraft Director in the supervision and motivation of the Scoutcraft staff in all their activities.
2. As assigned, aid the Scoutcraft Director in the training of the Scoutcraft staff in all of their activities.
3. Assume full direction of the Scoutcraft area in the absence of the Scoutcraft Director, unless otherwise directed.
4. Offer a quality Scoutcraft program which may include Camping, Cooking, Hiking, Orienteering, and Wilderness Survival merit badges.
5. Assist in the set-up and take-down of a quality Scoutcraft area.
6. Assist the Scoutcraft Director in the maintenance, inventory, security, safety, and wise use of all Scoutcraft Area equipment used in the Scoutcraft Area programs.
7.Maintain a strict discipline at all times when campers, leaders, and other staff are in the area.
8. Promote the Order of the Arrow and other special programs (ex. NYLT, NAYLE, etc.)
9. Participate in all camp-wide activities
10. Assist in the set-up and take-down of all camp facilities.
11. All other duties as assigned.
