Camp Health Officer / Camp Medic

CAMP HEALTH OFFICER / CAMP MEDIC
Reports To: Camp Director

Primary Functions: Operates and maintains the camp medical facility.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

•      Collects medical records and conducts medical recheck for staff, leaders, and campers.

•      Improves check-in procedures and protocols to safely and efficiently get all visitors to camp through the check-in process in a minimum amount of time.

•      Administers first aid and refers to hospital as necessary.

•      Maintains two first aid logs (one for staff, one for campers)

•      Inspects health and safety of the camp. • Monitors camp water supply • All other duties as assigned.

Critical Elements of the Position:

•      Must be 18 years of age or older.

•      Licensed EMT, paramedic, physician assistant, RN, LVN, nurse practitioner or physician, depending on camps access to emergency medical services (EMS) Must complete the Camp Health Officer’s Training course.

  • Follows all health and safety guidelines made by the County, State, USA, and Scouting America.
  • Extensive walking and moderate lifting required.
