Nature Director

NATURE DIRECTOR
Reports To: Program Director

Primary Functions: Supervises Ecology/Conservation area Major Duties and Responsibilities:

•      Establishes and maintains ecology area, including displays

•      Arranges and conducts nature field trips, establishes and maintains nature trails.

•      Instructs merit badges in the program area.

•      Develops/maintains camp conservation plan, approves camp conservation projects.

Assist the Program Director as requested in camp-wide events or special unit requests.

Collect/submit class rosters online and update Scouts’ progress.

During the end of the summer camping season, complete a written close-out report of the program area that includes an inventory of all equipment, including equipment condition and recommendations for next year’s supplies.

•      Submit the report to the Program Director /Camp Director before leaving camp property.

•      All other duties as assigned.

Critical Elements of the Position:

•      Must be 18 years of age or older.

•      Training in fields such as forestry, soil and water conservation, fish and wildlife, earth science, ecology, environmental specialties

•      Follows all health and safety guidelines made by the County, State, USA, and Scouting America.

Extensive walking and moderate lifting required.
