Trading Post Manager

TRADING POST MANAGER
Reports To: Business Manager

Supervises: Trading Post Assistant

Primary Functions: To run the day-to-day operations of our summer camp convenience store by providing leadership to camp staff as assigned.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, train, and motivate the Trading Post staff in all their activities.
  • Ensure that all financial protocols and regulations are followed.
  • Open and close the store on time.
  • Keep accurate records of income, expenditures, and inventories. Report these numbers to the Business Manager and Camp Director.
  • Keep the online inventory numbers accurate.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in and around the Trading Post.
  • Promotes and generates sales of Trading Post items.
  • Keep shelves stocked and create attractive displays.
  • During the end of the summer camping season, complete a written close-out report of the Trading Post, including an inventory of all equipment, including equipment condition, and recommendations for next year’s supplies.
  • Submit inventory report to the Business Manager/Camp Director before leaving camp.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Critical Elements of the Position:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be a role model for staff members and campers.
  • Follows all health and safety guidelines made by the County, State, USA, and Scouting America.
  • Background checks required.
  • Extensive walking and moderate lifting required.
