Health Officer

The Health and Safety Officer alerts the Camp Director to any unsafe actions or conditions of the campers or camp – specific responsibilities are:

be particularly alert to conditions which affect health, safety, sanitation, and good housekeeping practices
work in conjunction with the Council physician and local EMS Squad
maintain a daily sick call and first aid treatment center
conduct the weekly medical recheck of each camper
maintain daily and accurate health log records of all occurrences involving the first aid center
if time and knowledge permit, instruct Scouts in related merit badges
submit a final report of medical supplies needed and recommendations for the next summer
work with Camp Ranger to ensure all OSHA mandates are in compliance (see https://www.scouting.org/health-and-safety/osha-laws/)
work with Camp Director and Food Services Director to ensure that all federal, state, and local health mandates are in compliance. (see https://www.scph.org/sites/default/files/editor/EHCode1810.pdf)
all other duties as assigned.
