Aquatics Staff
Must be 16 years of age. Must hold current CPR training and be able to earn the BSA Lifeguard certification. Should be in good overall health, have the ability to swim, and be able to complete a Lost Bather’s Drill fully. Must be able to carry up to 30 lbs. Assist area directors in providing a safe, fun, and productive learning environment for youth and leaders. Act as youth role models for scouts and leaders in camp. Must be willing to learn skills and equipment use associated with each area. Must be able to learn, run, and teach merit badge classes, troop rotations, and evening skills activities for their program area. Must assist in “specialty” events held in each area (evening merit badge classes, polar bear swims, camp wide event, etc.). Must also assist in cleaning and maintaining area grounds, buildings, equipment, and latrines – if one is present. Are primarily responsible to the Waterfront Director, and to the Assistant Waterfront Director(s) indirectly.
