Assistant Aquatics Director
Must be 18 years of age. BSA Lifeguard, as well as Basic First Aid and AED/CPR training. Must also be able to swim and perform all rescues required for the activities conducted at all of the camp waterfront facilities. Must be able to give and receive verbal commands, as well as be able to visually inspect all waterfront facilities, equipment, and activities. Must be in an overall physically fit condition and have the ability to complete a Lost Bather’s drill as a participant and as a supervisor, and be able to carry 50 lbs. Assists the director in managing the Aquatics area and staff. Is immediately responsible for managing the staff in their assigned post (Main Waterfront, West Beach, or Boating). Must be able to use most Aquatics equipment safely and confidently (Watercraft, rescue tubes, throw lines, etc.), manage some paperwork for the area and area staff (inventories, staff evaluations, merit badge paperwork, Friday paperwork, etc.), teach merit badge classes, assist in mealtime announcements and program, conduct troop rotations and evening activities, track and report needed repairs to aquatics equipment, and act as an adult staff role model to the youth, leaders, and junior staff present in camp. In the absence of the Aquatics Director, temporarily assumes command of the Aquatics Area (to be determined by the Aquatics Director, with approval from the Program Director). Is responsible to the Aquatics Director
