Shooting Sports Staff

Must be 16 years old. Must be able to assist in giving and receiving verbal instructions, as well as being able to visually inspect the firing lines of 8.  Assist area directors in providing a safe, fun, and productive learning environment for youth and leaders. Act as youth role models for scouts and leaders in camp. Must be able to pick up 50 lbs. Must be willing to learn skills and equipment use associated with each area. Must be able to learn, run, and teach merit badge classes, troop rotations, and evening skills activities for their program area. Must assist in “specialty” events held in each area (evening merit badge classes, open shoot, black powder, etc.). Must also assist in cleaning and maintaining area grounds, buildings, equipment, and latrines – if one is present.  Is responsible to the Shooting Sports Director.
