Waterfront / Aquatics Staff (18+)

WATERFRONT/AQUATICS Staff
Reports To: Aquatics Director

Supervises: Aquatics Staff

Primary Functions: To run the day-to-day operations of our summer camp aquatics program by providing leadership to camp staff as assigned.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A AQUATICS STAFF MEMBER

Age 16 or older
Available for the summer from early June – August 7
Must have valid American Red Cross or BSA Lifeguard Certification OR a demonstrate that you are a strong swimmer capable of passing a 30 hour lifeguard course
On-site training provided
Ability to solve problems and function as part of a team to provide a safe swimming and boating experience
Attentive to safety and take common-sense precautions
Enjoy trying new things, patient and able to remain calm under pressure

Assist in helping to carry out and enforce all waterfront safety rules and policies
Teach skilled instruction in aquatics based activities (swimming, lifesaving, boating)
Serve as a lifeguard during open swim times
Other duties in camp as may be assigned by the Camp Director and/or Program Director
Lifeguards / Aquatics Instructors are directly responsible to the Aquatics Director in their area

TYPICAL SUMMER WORK SCHEDULE

The typical week for the staff begins on Sunday at 11am and continues through Saturday at 10am, with 24 hours off between sessions. All staff also gets one evening during the week off.
