ATV Director

Position Summary:
The ATV Program Director is responsible for overseeing the All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) program at a BSA summer camp. This includes ensuring the safety, instruction, and enjoyment of all participants while maintaining compliance with BSA National Camp Standards and ASI (All-Terrain Vehicle Safety Institute) requirements. The Director will lead instructional sessions, maintain equipment, and supervise staff and Scouts in the ATV program.

Key Responsibilities:
Instruct and oversee the ASI RiderCourse® Safety Training for all youth and adult participants.
Ensure full compliance with BSA ATV program guidelines and safety protocols.
Maintain and inspect all ATV equipment and protective gear daily.
Supervise ATV program staff and ensure adequate coverage for sessions.
Promote responsible and ethical ATV use in accordance with BSA and ASI guidelines.
Develop and implement a progressive and engaging ATV curriculum for participants aged 14 and older.
Maintain accurate records of training, attendance, and equipment usage.
Work closely with the camp health officer and program director to ensure safety and medical readiness.
Serve as a positive role model and mentor for Scouts and staff.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years old by the first day of camp.
Certified ASI Instructor or available to attend and complete ASI Instructor Training prior to the start of the summer season.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Previous experience operating ATVs and working with youth in outdoor settings preferred.
Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willing to obtain).
Must meet the health and physical requirements for participation in the ATV program.

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in a leadership role at a BSA camp.
Mechanical skills for minor ATV maintenance and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with BSA Youth Protection policies and outdoor ethics.
