Range & Target Activities Staff

Ready, aim, inspire! The Summit Bechtel Reserve offers a variety of range and target activities to youth, including archery, shotgun, rifle, and pistol. The range and target activities team of the Summit facilitates programs for the Justice National Scout Camp, the Summit Experience (onsite high-adventure program), and the Marksman Program (the weeklong high-adventure range-and-target-activities-focus program).

There are several openings across the following job categories/positions; each listing is linked to a page that contains detailed information about the role type, including term of employment and salary.

  2. Archery Merit Badge Counselor
  3. Armorer and Range Support
  4. Range and Target Activities Instructor
  5. Rifle/Shotgun Merit Badge Counselor
  6. Sportsman’s Complex Instructor (conservation/hunter education)

The starting rate of pay for any summer seasonal position at the Summit is $1,600.00 per month; food and housing (tent in Staff Camp) are also provided for all staff. The approximate term of employment is from late May to early August, though term lengths can be flexible. Precise monthly salaries and employment periods are provided on each position listing. Additionally, internship credit can be gained from employment in any position at the Summit, if the responsibilities of the role match the requirements of the institution–just ask!
